Peering through the lens of high‐reliability theory: A competencies driven security culture model of high‐reliability organisations

Abstract To improve organisational safety and enhance security efficiency, organisations seek to establish a culture of that provides foundation for how employees should approach security. There are several frameworks models provide set requirements forming cultures; however, many organisations, the difficult meet, if not impossible. In this research, we take different perspective focus on core underlying competencies high‐reliability (HROs) have shown be effective in achieving levels risk tolerance consistent with goals culture. doing so draw theory develop Security Culture Model explains firm's supportive practical form its refine test model, conducted developmental mixed‐method study using interviews survey data professional managers involved information (InfoSec) programs within their respective HROs.
